Denis Sokolov has been appointed the Head of Research CEE at Cushman & Wakefield. Denis is based in Moscow, Russia.

Denis Sokolov has over 13 years of experience in commercial real estate. His current major role is to develop a deeper and more effective cooperation across the CEE region, whilst using collected data from each country and individual service lines in order to prepare targeted reports covering insights, fresh data and the newest trends in the real estate market. As a frequent contributor to the business media, Denis will be also formally representing the Research department in CEE in public.

“My aim is to work even closer with the teams in our region to create targeted CEE real estate reports, so that we are able to provide our clients as well as our business service lines with an up-to-date information and all important insights and trends from the field at the fastest time possible,” says Denis Sokolov, Head of CEE Research at Cushman & Wakefield.

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield in 2004, Denis worked in private as well as public sector for well-known international brands. He was providing his consulting services to the government of Moscow, but also Russian and foreign banks such as Alfa Bank or Goldman Sachs. He was managing research projects commissioned by international companies in Russia and the countries of CIS. He also conducted international studies of the emerging markets, such as Mexico, Nigeria, Brazil and Iran. Before his professional career he studied in Moscow Agribusiness University and Kansas State University.

Denis lectures at Thunderbird Business School, Strelka Institute and the Higher School of Economics. He is the regular columnist in the leading business and professional Russian and international media including "Vedomosti", RBC and Forbes Russia. He is the honorary member of the Royal institution of chartered surveyors (FRICS).

“I am delighted that Denis Sokolov will be leading Cushman & Wakefield’s CEE Research department. Whilst leveraging data and managing individual country teams, he will help guide us and our clients through a market that is changing by the minute. His analytical mind and eagerness for constant pursuit of knowledge combined with long-term experience in this field makes him the ideal person for this role,” says Jonathan Hallett, Head of Central & Eastern Europe at Cushman & Wakefield.

At Cushman & Wakefield Denis created a compact research platform covering Russia and CIS countries and coordinated research projects across various countries. He actively restructured the research department and set up a professional and experienced team equipped with modern data management tools. His efforts resulted in the nomination of the company for the Best Real Estate Research awarded by Euromoney every 4 years.
